Cumberland Manor is working closely with specialist health experts from Aspen Health, Australian Medical Assistance Teams (AUSMAT), the Department of Health and Human Services and outreach doctors to provide the best care for residents with COVID-19.

Forty three residents in Cumberland Manor have tested positive for the virus, with a further two positive residents in hospital and one being cared for in their own home.

Outreach doctors from Western Health are on-call 24 hours a day, providing immediate acute care response at Cumberland Manor for our residents.

Aside from ensuring the best of care for your loved ones, we are in touch daily with the key contact of each resident who has tested positive, to ensure that family and friends are constantly aware of their health and wellbeing.

Cumberland Health also regularly updates - every second day - the key contacts of residents who have tested negative.

Cumberland Manor management and senior staff have been, and continue, to work hand-in-hand with state and federal health authorities

We and health specialists are closely monitoring our residents, with the outreach doctors advising on hospital transfers.

To maintain the protection of our residents and staff, Cumberland Manor is adhering to restrictions on visitors, with strict screening of staff and contractors.

Staff are fastidiously adhering to Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) protocols including masks, face shields, gowns and gloves, and don and doff PPE when attending to every individual resident.

We will keep residents, their families, our dedicated staff and our community aware of any changes to the situation and we are absolutely committed to keeping our residents connected with their loved ones and our staff as safe as possible.

Cumberland Manor is dedicated to compassionate care, while focusing on protecting residents, staff and their families.

Cumberland Manor Residential Aged Care is currently receiving support from the Australian and Victorian governments to manage an outbreak of COVID-19.

This is an incredibly stressful time for our residents and their families.

Calls are being made to the primary contact for each resident to update them on their loved one’s health and wellbeing, as well as the ongoing response at the facility.

The wellbeing of our residents is our top priority and we appreciate the support we have received from our community at this time.

We also appreciate the assistance we continue to receive from federal and state health authorities, the local Public Health Unit, the Aged Care Quality and Safety Commission and the Older Persons’ Advocacy Network.

This includes access to surplus Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), clinical and infection control expertise, geriatricians, and additional workforce support.
We are all working tirelessly to continue to provide quality care for our Cumberland Manor residents at this challenging time.

Thank you for your continued understanding and support as we manage our response to the COVID-19 pandemic.

If you would like to discuss further, please call us on (03) 9311 7079.
